completing coursework in financial leadership, valuation, and advisory practice — including the
MBA Guidebook, the CFO Guidebook, Construction Accounting, and numerous AICPA
programs spanning Business Valuation, the Income Approach and Asset-Based Approach to
Valuation, and Real Estate Valuation. Her continuing education further encompasses Individual,
Trust, and Corporate Taxation; Expert Witness Testimony; Tax Aspects of Buying and Selling a
Business; Working with the IRS; Tax Aspects of Divorce and Separation; Trust and Estate Tax
Planning; Mergers and Acquisitions; Fraud Prevention; Financial Statement Manipulation in
Privately Held Companies; and Cash Flow and Financial Statement Analysis, among other
disciplines.
Kathy launched her career as an accountant and auditor with one of the Big Five public
accounting firms before transitioning to the private sector. She rose through the ranks to serve
as Chief Financial Officer of a Coca-Cola affiliated company and has since held CFO roles
across organizations in a broad range of industries. In addition, she has served on the Boards of
Directors of multiple for-profit and nonprofit organizations throughout the region.
The breadth of Kathy’s experience has given her a firsthand understanding of the financial
complexities businesses face at every stage of growth. Motivated by a commitment to
strengthening the local business community, she founded KDK Consulting, LLC — bringing enterprise-level financial expertise to small businesses and empowering them to pursue and achieve both their near-term and long-term goals.
David Kulisek - MBA, CPA, CCIFP
Senior Business Consultant/Project Controller
A Chattanooga native, David holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of
Tennessee at Chattanooga and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in
Data Analytics from Florida Atlantic University. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in
Tennessee, Florida, and New York, a member of the Tennessee Society of CPAs, and holds the
Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) designation.
David began his career in public accounting, serving small businesses and nonprofit
organizations throughout the greater Chattanooga area. He subsequently transitioned his
expertise to the construction industry, where he served as Project Controller for a $160 million
construction development in South Florida. In that capacity, he was instrumental in establishing
the company as a preferred vendor for the Broward County School District and a prequalified
vendor for the Broward County Utility District.
David has since accumulated extensive experience as a Controller at both the enterprise and project levels across the construction sector. Committed to continuous professional growth, he broadened his industry expertise by joining a rapidly expanding medical group in midtown Manhattan as Financial Controller.
David has since returned to the Miami area, where he partners with Kathy and Michael to
deliver financial leadership and strategic guidance to clients in the construction and healthcare
industries, as well as to businesses throughout South Florida and across the country —
supporting each in achieving its financial objectives.
Michael Kulisek
Accounting Manager
A Chattanooga native, Michael discovered his passion for business and finance while pursuing
his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance — a journey
that brought him to Florida and an early career opportunity with the Walt Disney Company.
Michael’s introduction to accounting came during his tenure at Disney’s All-Star Resort, where
he quickly distinguished himself as a subject matter expert in billing procedures and systems.
Recognizing his aptitude and initiative, Walt Disney World Resort’s corporate leadership
selected him to serve as Billing Coordinator for the post-visit billing department — a centralized
role supporting the billing operations of the entire Walt Disney World Resort. In this capacity,
Michael’s team was regularly called upon to resolve complex billing matters for stakeholders
ranging from frontline cast members to senior executives.
Michael was subsequently offered the position of Accounting Supervisor for Disney Vacation Club, where he oversaw the full billing process for Disney Vacation Club mortgages and annual dues. This role expanded his financial expertise to include nonprofit accounting, complementing the for-profit accounting foundation he had already established. Over the course of nearly twelve years with one of the largest and most respected corporations in the world, Michael developed a broad and sophisticated understanding of financial operations at scale.
Upon returning to Chattanooga, Michael joined Kathy and David, bringing with him the
enterprise-level insight and discipline cultivated throughout his Disney career. He is committed
to applying that experience in direct service to the small business community — helping local
enterprises unlock their full potential and build lasting financial success.
