Kathy Kulisek - CPA
Owner/President
Kathy has lived her entire adult life in Chattanooga, receiving her Bachelors Degree in Accounting from UTC. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Tennessee and is a member of the Tennessee Society of CPAs.
Kathy supplemented her education by completing coursework in The MBA Guidebook; The CFO Guidebook; Construction Accounting; AICPA: Business Valuation; The Income Approach and the Asset Based Approach to Valuation; as well as AICPA Real Estate Valuation; Individual/Trust and Corporate Tax, AICPA Expert Witness Testimony; Tax Aspects of Buying & Selling a Business Working with the IRS; Tax Aspects of Divorce and Separation; Trust and Estate Tax Planning; Merger and Acquisitions; Fraud Prevention; Financial Statement Manipulation in Privately Held Companies; and Cash Flow and Financial Statement Analysis, to name a few.
Kathy began her career as an accountant and auditor for one of the “Big Five” accounting firms. She then moved to the private sector where she eventually became CFO of a Coca-Cola Affiliated Company. She has since served as Chief Financial Officer of multiple companies in a variety of fields, as well as serving on the Board of Directors for different for-profit and non-profit organizations in the area.
Kathy’s experience has allowed her to see the many levels and facets of the financial challenges that businesses often face, which made her understand the immediate need to support small businesses and help them grow and compete in their industries. With this in mind, she started KDK Consulting, LLC to offer an array of extensive experience to the small businesses in the area, helping them achieve their short and long term goals.
David Kulisek - MBA, CPA, CCIFP
Senior Business Consultant/Project Controller
Raised in Chattanooga, David earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting from UTC and an MBA with a concentration in Data Analytics from Florida Atlantic University. He is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in Tennessee, Florida, and New York, and a member of the Tennessee Society of CPAs. In addition, David is a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional.
David spent the first part of his professional career in the public sector working for small businesses and not- for-profits in the Chattanooga area. Later, he moved his accounting expertise to the service of the construction industry, where he began as a Project Controller for a company developing a $160 million construction project in Florida. While in this role in the South Florida area, David helped the company become a preferred vendor for the Broward County School District, and a prequalified vendor for the Broward County Utility District. David has extensive experience as a Controller on both the company-wide and individual project levels. Always seeking opportunities to continue to grow and learn, David joined an expanding medical group located in midtown Manhattan as a Financial Controller.
After living in New York City for two years, preceded by 5 years in Florida, David decided it was time to make his return home to Chattanooga. Now alongside Kathy and Michael, David is focused on putting his expertise to the service of the construction and medical industries as well as to local and nationwide enterprises, in their path to financial success.
Michael Kulisek
Accounting Manager
Michael was born and raised in Chattanooga, while attending college he had the opportunity to work for the Walt Disney Company in Florida. While developing his career there, Michael received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance. Michael was introduced to accounting when he worked at the Disney All Star Resort, where he became the go-to expert on billing procedures and systems.
He was selected by Walt Disney World Resort corporate to become a Billing Coordinator for the post-visit billing department for the entire Walt Disney World Resort. Michael’s department was called on to solve situations from frontline employees all the way up to top executives. He was later offered the role of Accounting Supervisor for Disney Vacation Club, where he oversaw the billing process for all the Disney Vacation Club mortgages and Annual Dues. This experience introduced him to non-profit accounting, adding to his existing for-profit accounting experience. After nearly 12 years of working for the Disney Corporation, he moved back to Chattanooga to join Kathy and David. Armed with the knowledge he acquired working for one of the largest corporations in the world, Michael seeks to help the area small businesses in their journey to achieve their full potential.
